for those who can't sleep

Insomnia is an affliction.  Whatever methods, medical or otherwise, you are using to deal with it, there is one other thing which can help. I call it ‘dropping down’.  This involves drawing together the thoughts and feelings that are keeping me awake and dropping down with them, inwardly.  Here is a thought which might help you do this.

It is said that in the time which elapsed between his encounter with the High Priest and his trial by Pontius Pilate, Jesus was held in what was the equivalent of a police cell.  This was a hole into which the prisoner was lowered with ropes.  It is in this dark hole that he waits for us in our anxiety and restlessness and in the darkest time of the night.  Think of meeting him there.
