It is said that it is better to give than to receive, but there are those who cannot receive. They can only give. They give out of their need to receive but their need is like a locked door to which one has lost the key. For them, it would be better if they could at last learn to receive. Receiving is difficult for everyone, in different ways. For some it reinforces a kind of ‘payback’ frame of mind while for others this amounts to guilt. Some will associate receiving with charity, the kind of ‘charity’ which diminishes a person and makes them feel patronised. All of these barriers to receiving disappear when a person turns towards the source of love itself, perhaps for the first time.
